WCF hires new communications manager
Joselyne Hernandez joined the Wichita Community Foundation as its communications manager in late September.
In reaction to current global events, the Evergy Community Response Fund at the Wichita Community Foundation (WCF) awarded 10 Wichita nonprofits $10,000 each to support efforts that close gaps in services created by COVID-19 or promote solutions to racial injustice.
WCF President and CEO Shelly Prichard is a WBJ Executive of the Year. The WBJ will celebrate and present each honoree in a virtual awards program on November 4, 2020.
WCF, KMUW and Reverie Coffee Roasters have partnered to encourage locals to vote, utilizing colorful coffee sleeves as the reminder.
Public space activation relies heavily on strong and engaged stewardship. WCF is working with local placemakers to experiment crowdsourcing this service. The concept will be tested on the land where the Pop Up Park once stood near Douglas and Main.
